Dear Parents of Grade 7 Students,
The Grade Seven Students have now started on their Ancient Greek Research projects! I am looking forward to seeing them use their creativity to express themselves! We are also looking forward to a “Greek Feast” at the end of this unit (details to come later).
Please see attached a number of useful handouts that will guide this project.
The students will be working on these at school, but it may be a good idea to check in with them every once in a while and encourage them as they progress toward completion. Closer to the deadline, work that is not able to be finished in class may be sent home for completion, but students will be getting lots of time to work at school.

The safety rules will stay the same.
Upon arrival, we will be meeting between the ticket booth and the rental shop. Parents and students may leave their stuff downstairs in the day use area prior to meeting.
In the afternoon, please have rentals returned and meet downstairs in the day use area for attendance at 1:30 before heading back to the school for the after school bus.
**If some of the drivers with fewer passengers are interesting in condensing their groups/carpools, please arrange this and confirm with us by Feb. 21st at the latest.
Thank you!
Also: Thank you so much to the parents, for the generosity of your time, gas, money, patience, etc. We recognize and appreciate the sacrifices your making. The kids had a great time today and it means a lot to us (teachers) to see them having so much fun!
Dear Parents, please take the time to review the following safety rules with your child:
1. Students are NOT allowed to go to the backside of the mountain.
2. Students must stay with their buddies at all times (bathroom breaks, lunch, snack, breaks, lifts, etc.) If they are in a group larger than 2, they should wait for their other group members at the tops and bottoms of chair lifts.
3. There will be parents circulating the mountain and there will be a parent on duty at the lodge/day use area. If children need assistance, they are encouraged to find a parent helper, teacher, employee of Silver Star, parent at the lodge, or wait at the bottom of the chair lift. We (teachers) will check the bottoms of chairlifts. Parent helpers, please check also and keep your eyes open for students who may need assistance. *Please let myself or Mr. Koch know if you are willing to take a shift at the lodge/day use area.
4. Students and parent helpers must meet back at the lodge/day use area at 1:00pm to be ready to pack up and leave.
We will have our cellphones on us, in case of emergency.
We hope and pray that the kids will have a safe and fun time!
Hi Parents,
Just a friendly reminder to check in with Mr. Koch for attendance at 7:00 am if you are meeting at KCS and/or with Mrs. Wiebe at Enderby Chapel at 7:20, if you are meeting there!
Upon arriving to Silver Star: please find us near the rental area!
At 1:00pm we will meet at the Day Use Area (downstairs). We will get ready and do a final attendance before heading back to the school.
We will have a parent at the day use area so that kids can take a break and/or stop for lunch, as needed.
Thank you!
